Turning Wasted Energy into Positive Energy
NorthWest HealthCare Properties turned energy savings into a $55,000 contribution to healthcare charities in Atlantic Canada. "When we retrofit a building", says Ann Swinamer of NorthWest, "our goal is to help everyone win: the building, its owners, the Tenants and the environment.""
NorthWest partnered with Performance Management Company Limited to get local businesses to donate energy-efficient equipment to retrofit NorthWest’s Moncton Medical Centre in New Brunswick. "When we asked our tenants if they would be willing to donate the savings, they unanimously agreed" said Ann.
Since the project completed in October of 2013, over $55,000 has been donated to The Mental Health Association, The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and the Canadian Transplant Association. Wasted energy, turned into positive energy.
NorthWest is grateful to its partners: Performance Management Company Ltd., Global Mechanical Systems Ltd., Alerton, Advanced Energy Management, Efficiency New Brunswick and the Tenants at Moncton Medical Centre.
